Matteson Community Theatre
was started in 1998 with the 
belief that the performing arts needed to continue in our communities. 

With school budget 
problems and pressure on 
politicians to put their 
monies elsewhere, the art 
programs were usually 
the first to be cut. 

After discussing our 
dissatisfaction of this trend with some of our fellow 
performers, we began 
to form a clear idea: 

"Instead of complaining about it, 
why not do something about it?" 

And so...we did.

Partnering up with 
Matteson Parks and 
Recreation, we created 
Matteson Community Theatre;

A place where people 
who have never acted, 
or been theater techies, 
are able to experience the magic of being involved in 
a live show!!!
